“There are gods”, she told herself, “and there are true knight too. All stories can’t be lies. “

CATELYN TULLY-STARKTULLY WORDS : Family, Duty, Honor
SO WHY DOES SHE LEAVE HER FAMILY???????
Catelyn’s children:Robb – going to war, appointed King in the North, still only fifteen (17 in the show)Sansa – in King’s Landing aka enemy territoryArya – in King’s Landing and then unknownBran – WinterfellRickon – Winterfell
(there are spoilers so beware) So people question why Catelyn stays around with Robb when she has little children to take care of. Rickon and Bran are young and in Winterfell. Winterfell, their home and their safe haven. Winterfell with tons of people that have lived there their whole lives. Winterfell with Maesters and other caretakers. Yes it’s good for a mother to take care of her children but Winterfell is certainly capable of taking care of them as well.
Sansa is in the grasp of lions. If she went to try and help there, she’d most likely end up imprisoned or killed (or maybe not even let in). Trying to find Arya would be useless and it’d be just her searching and finding nothing. Robb is the only one she sees she can really help. And that’s how I view it too? They are all knights of summer, as she says, and even her son is. He is a King of Summer who is supposed to herald Winter. He is not ready. He needs help and guidance, and she has lived through a war before. And she gives good advice, that more should have listened to.
Catelyn helped the child that needed the most help that she could help: Robb. He was just a boy and suddenly became the King in the North. I think that if she went for any other child, it would have been foolish. Her last thoughts are of her husband and her children, all of whom she thinks are dead save for Sansa (in Lannister hands). She carries her guilt and grief with her. There is only one of her though, and there are five children. It would be nice for her to just have to be mother to her children and coddle them but it is the time of war and Family and Duty lie with helping her son and ensuring the Starks their place, and their lives.

white girls who want my culture’s bindis and saris and henna

take my skin colour too

and my dark brown lips

take my self-hatred because i don’t fit into the euro-centric ideals of beauty

take the oppression too

take the history of colonization that has devastated my country

and the drones that currently devastate my country

take all the bad stuff too

not just the pretty, shiny, sparky bits

take the ugly, dehumanizing and shitty parts too

Fine, I’ll just stop appreciating or admiring anything of beauty that culture other than my dull, boring, white-bread world creates; and go back to thinking that anything other than the output of my own culture is inferior, offensive, bizarre and disgusting.

This, children, is how white people bitch about having to deal with their own privilege: by acting as if they have no culture of their own, so they just HAVE to take somebody else’s!!! Won’t SOMEBODY think of the poor, cultureless white people!!!!!
